Linea C

I bought this pen from an Antiques Fair. Pen is slightly shorter than the standard "Classic" 534 pen being just over  5 1/4 inches (15 cm).  The clip is also the older style. The caption is printed on the barrel. The float part is clear with the ship floating along the pen.

Linea C also known as Costa Line was formed in 1924 as a freight carrier service.  It started passenger services in 1947 and bought its first proper cruise liner in 1948.  At it's peak it was the largest cruise company in the western world.  As part of the Carnival Group it is part of one of the largest Cruise companies in the world. The picture below is of the Eugenio C which seems to be the ship featured in the pen which served between 1966 and 1996.
